SEO Resource, a search engine optimization
firm that works with non-profit organizations is taking Google
up on their Google Grants offer.
Talk of Google Grants first surfaced in January 2004 and
now the talk has resumed with the recent re-introduction of
the Google Grants program at: http://www.google.com/grants/
which awards free AdWords advertising to 501(c)(3) organizations.
Google Vice President of global online sales and operations,
Sheryl Sandburg, has stated on various websites that Google
wants to give back to the community and "… it would be
a great opportunity for us to refer people interested in the
topics that these non-profits work on."
"SEO Resource, a company which also believes in giving
back, works with non-profit organizations on a philanthropic
basis and promotes these websites through SEM methods to gain
exposure for worthy causes," according to Kevin S. Kantola,
CEO of SEO Resource.
"We are working with such organizations as U.
S. Doctors for Africa and Neuroscience
Initiative to give these non-profits exposure on the Internet
and help connect them with donors and volunteers who wish
to help with these causes," Mr. Kantola states. "The
Google Grants program is an excellent avenue for increasing
exposure for these websites and this complements the search
engine optimization work that we do. These two non-profits
have already signed up."
According to the details section of the Google Grants area
the application process works as follows: "The Google
Grants committee (consisting of Google employees) is responsible
for selecting award recipients. We will confirm your 501(c)(3)
status, and review your application carefully." In this
section, Google states that 80-percent of the non-profit organizations,
year-to-date have met the criteria of the grants program.
"SEO Resource sees this as a win-win situation, when
a huge organization that is best-in-class recently turns their
cash-cow public via IPO and in the same breath says, 'We've
just made a lot of money, so the first thing we are going
to do with it is give some back,'" says Kantola. "And
the non-profits profit by this culture of corporate generosity.
Now let's see if, as usual, the other big Internet search
engines and directories follows Google's lead."
Besides helping non-profits, SEO Resource also helps small
to medium sized business achieve top search engine rankings
as well. Visit http://www.seoresource.net
